Network modernization strategies to support modern applications

For many government agencies, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need to digitize citizen-centered services. With the huge demand for agency networks, many federal and state agencies are turning to software-defined networks or managed broadband to better integrate modern web applications.

“As applications get much smarter, the networks they depend on need to be more dynamic, redundant, and secure,” said James Clevenger, Hughes’ director of sales and business development, in a new podcast.

He added that agency leaders must also prioritize critical network improvements for their rural offices in the United States to ensure that they have reliable access to their global network to best serve their constituents.

“Networks have changed significantly over the last two or three years,” and agencies need to take advantage of alternatives to Internet access, such as satellite, broadband and cellular connectivity, to take advantage of the many opportunities they have, Clevenger said. a podcast produced by Scoop News Group and hosted by Hughes.

Clevenger discusses strategies that leaders should consider as they seek to renew their requests for network service offerings, and how they can rely on experienced managed service providers to deploy technologies that are best suited to the mission of the agency.
