Elbit Systems received a contract to supply the E-LynX Software Defined Radio (SDR) solution for the Spanish Army Battalion.
The move is believed to be part of a program to modernize Spain’s combat radio network.
The company will supply E-LynX SDR portable systems for dismantled troops and automotive systems. They will be equipped on various combat platforms.
Elbit Systems will fulfill the contract in partnership with Telefonica within a six-month period.
The E-LynX SDR solution was selected following competitive technical and field evaluations by the Directorate-General for Armaments and Materials of the Spanish Ministry of Defense (DGAM).
Elbit Systems C4I and Chaim Delmar, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cyber: “We are proud of this prestigious selection as it highlights the growing recognition of E-LynX as the preferred SDR solution in Europe.
“Spain is an important market for Elbit Systems and we will continue to invest and expand our local capabilities and technologies in Spain.”
Earlier this month, Elbit Systems introduced a portable tactical satellite communication system (SATCOM) which will provide the armed forces with opportunities for secure communication on the go.
The E-LynX-Sat system includes a mobile terminal weighing less than 1 kg, which connects to Elbit Systems’ E-LynX SDR solution to enable communication.
In June last year, the German Federal Ministry of Defense (MoD) selected a subsidiary of Elbit Systems to supply E-LynX military radio stations (PNR 1000) to the German army.
